RODNEY RASCONA

As a veteran photographer and director with a career spanning three decades and 56 countries in serving the international advertising and design community, I’ve created poignant film and photography for the past 20 years across the globe in support of international groups creating sustainable solutions to global issues.

I’ve been tasked with creating strong story, equally strong aesthetic - trusted in covering some of the 21st century’s most pressing global issues,[2004 Southeast Asia Tsunami, the Haitian earthquake, the Somali/Kenya exodus, Ethiopian Famine, HIV/AIDS in East Africa, Kenya’s Drought, Post-Genocide Rwanda, Women's Rights in Congo, Philippines typhoon Haiyan, Global Women's Health, Gender Equality to STEM/STEAM initiatives], consistently delivering frame-by-frame impact for clients from NGOs to the United Nations Foundation, on international development, relief and advertising productions.

I’ve earned the trust of both client and creative, enjoying production relationships across the globe which help provide answers and a vision...to the creatives seeking modern solutions to difficult communication problems.

My images blend a high level of contemporary aesthetic with compassion, in the creation of photographic and cinematic portraits which drive poignant messages at the core of the human spirit. My documentary Black Inside, created for the UNF-GACC, was recognized and received the coveted Grand Prix-Best Corporate Film at the Deauville Green Awards in Normandy. Equally as a photographer, I was awarded - International Photographer of the Year: Deeper Perspective - by the LUCIE Foundation out of 20,000 nominations for an iconic collection of portraits, "The Pink Door Photographs," of post earthquake survivors in Haiti.

My creative vision and the images I create, represent decades of global experience, a command of both film and photography disciplines – a mix of three decades worth of advertising experience, complemented by nearly two decades creating images across the developing world to inspire, raise awareness and to build compassion for the issues of our time.
